Position Overview
The Creative Director shapes the visual identity and aesthetic of Youngblood Magazine across all platforms, from print to digital and multimedia. This role is responsible for ensuring that every piece of visual content, photography, illustrations, videos, and live visuals—reflects the magazine’s mission to celebrate Black creativity. The Creative Director collaborates closely with the editorial department and reach department to maintain visual cohesion and push creative boundaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the art department.
  • Collaborate with editors to ensure visual storytelling complements editorial content.
  • Oversee photoshoots, video production, and multimedia projects.
  • Approve visual assets before publication or release.
  • Work with the reach department to ensure visual campaigns reflect the brand.
  • Stay current with trends in design, fashion, photography, and digital media to keep content innovative.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Expertise in visual storytelling, graphic design, photography, and multimedia production.
  • Deep understanding of contemporary culture, style, and aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain consistency while pushing creative boundaries.
  • Proficiency in design and production software.

Compensation
This position is paid through a stipend, which will be distributed when new issues of Youngblood Magazine are released. The stipend amount is based on available funds after each issue is released.
