Position Overview
Writers produce high-quality editorial content that reflects Youngblood Magazine’s mission and aesthetic. This role involves researching, interviewing, and crafting stories that celebrate Black creativity. Writers help bring fresh perspectives to the magazine while collaborating closely with editors and the visual department.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, pitch, and write articles or features for the magazine.
- Collaborate with editors to refine and edit content.
- Conduct interviews with artists, creatives, and cultural figures.
- Meet deadlines and participate in editorial planning sessions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong writing and storytelling abilities
- Excellent research and interviewing skills
- Ability to take editorial feedback and revise work effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to balance creative vision with deadlines and strategic goals.
- Deep understanding of contemporary culture, media, and creative trends.
Compensation
This position is paid through a stipend, which will be distributed when new issues of Youngblood Magazine are released. The stipend amount is based on available funds after each issue is released.
